Hurray for nice weather!

We had a break in the subtropical rain showers for a pleasant evening of flying. Hopefully, this will hold out for tomorrow night, too. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Friday doesn't favor our night flying event...stay tuned for more info as the event grows closer.

Highlights from this evening of flying:

Rick B.'s scratch-built plane.

Mike gives it an A+ hand launch. The little plane-that-could was incredibly fast..for about three minutes. Then, it made a loud squealing noise as the electronic speed control (esc) failed and the magic smoke escaped. Fortunately, the plane was traveling at a decent click when this happened and it had enough speed to execute a smooth landing on the runway. When he installs a new esc we are in for a show.

Donnie had an elevator hinge come loose. A little glue, a new hinge pin, and it was ready to go.

Ashneil preps his flying wing. He also flew his micro A-10 Warthog. He does an impressive job flying the little jet!

Rick B.'s L-39 Albatross. This is a beautiful model...too bad Motion  RC discontinued making it.

Danny preps his Dallas Doll P-51. The new four-blade prop worked well, but the motor was a tad too hot. Smaller diameter, lower pitch, less blades...lots of choices!
