Saturday flying highlights– check them out!
Capt. Kurt brought out his warbirds and did an excellent job of greasing his landings. Unfortunately, we didn't get any shots of these flying down the runway. Maybe next time, Kurt. That's a sweet Jug! |
This never gets old. Awesome inverted pass by Rick B. and his giant Hellcat. If you haven't seen him fly this, you are missing out! Totally airshow worthy. |
Rick gives Donnie some tips. One of the nice things about SMAC members– there's always someone willing to lend a hand. |
Ug. Retractable landing gear are neat, but can be a source of headaches. Dave's gear failed to come down during the flight of his beautiful giant scale Corsair, forcing a belly landing. With a little work it will be flying again soon. |
Chad's flying his Cub bush plane..."Hey– watch this guys!" |
Then, it skidded to a halt, upside-down. A textbook one-wing landing! |
Mike switches out his electric planes for some flights with his gasser. |
The color scheme is beautiful and Mike does a great job flying it. |
B-26 Marauder and PT-17 Stearman. Both are electric powered. |
Are you a hobbyist looking for a place to fly, or wanting to get into flying model aircraft? Come out to the SMAC field on our scheduled flying days- Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 PM, or Saturdays at 10:00 AM (When the weather is agreeable, of course).
We usually have some interesting models in the air, and welcome spectators and hobbyists wanting to fly, as long as you have a current AMA registration.
Our 900' runway and open flying area is one of the best flying fields around, and you couldn't ask for a better group of people to hang out with!
THIS WEBSITE HAS PASSED 20,000 VIEWS! THANKS FOR VISITING!
