Our July meeting is tomorrow - 6:30 at the North Hampton flying field (directions are on the web site).
We had some interesting aircraft take to the air this hot and muggy Monday morning. Steve B. flew his museum-quality British WWI Airco DH.2 model, and Rick B. maidened a Giles 202 aerobatic aircraft.

Steve readies the DH.2. It's surprisingly heavy model, yet flies well. |

Rick cut all the vinyl lettering... |

...and the cool "Wild Hare" graphic on the cowl. It takes skill to cut and apply vinyl graphics with this much detail. The addition of the lettering and graphics make this a slick-looking model. |
|
Rick gave the plane a thorough checkout for proper operation, then put the model through its paces. In this photo Rick is performing a knife-edge along the length of the field. |
|
There were other members flying, too. |
|
Steve B.'s Old School Model Works Curtiss Robin. Steve says the kit is well-designed and goes together quickly. His attention to scale detail is commendable. |

Kurt cruises down the runway with his E-flight P-51.
Are you a hobbyist looking for a place to fly, or wanting to get into flying model aircraft? Come out to the SMAC field on our scheduled flying days- Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 PM, or Saturdays at 10:00 AM (When the weather is agreeable, of course).
We usually have some interesting models in the air, and welcome spectators and hobbyists wanting to fly, as long as you have a current AMA registration.
Our 900' runway and open flying area is one of the best flying fields around, and you couldn't ask for a better group of people to hang out with! |
