Chasing the Clouds Away on a Tuesday Afternoon

Rick B. puts on (another) fabulous aerial display with his F6F Hellcat during the pause between storms on Tuesday.
Thunderclouds rolled in on this hot and humid Tuesday afternoon, cooling the air providing a near-perfect time for flying. A few vigilant members came to the field and took advantage of the break between storms.
Rick S. gets some flight time in before the next wave of storms hits the field. Rob C's Stearman is in the foreground.

Dave was having such a good time watching the show he didn't notice that his chair was being consumed by the wet ground!

Mike flies so frequently that this photo could be from any day this summer!

Hellcat and Hellkitty. The little Hellcat flew great on its first flight, but had electric retract issues. The larger Hellcat also had air-driven retract issues on Saturday. Coincidence? Hmm...

Our new windsock! Sincere thanks to Richard Baker for the donation.
Unbeknownst to the afternoon flight crew, Jim R. and Steve B. had already been at the field in the morning for a WWI dawn patrol. From Left-to-right: Steve's DeHavilland DH-2, Jim R.'s Hanriot, and his Dr.1.

Remember folks– there's night flying this Friday! Come out and fly or just come to watch the show!
