Pictures from the Dayton Air Show

SMAC member Jim R. attended Saturday's show armed with his trusty telephoto lens.  Broken cumulus clouds provided an interesting background and helped keep the spectators cool.  Here are a few of the better pictures:

F-15 from Louisiana Air Guard

Kevin Coleman's Extra 300 falls through his smoke after a wild gyration

USN F-18 Hornet pulling hard.  High humidity makes strake vortices visible.

USN Heritage Flight - F-4U Corsair and Super Hornet

"Red Bull Air Force" helicopter and Extra 330 doing a synchronized loop

Kirby Chambliss makes a low sideslipping pass in his Extra 300

F-22 Demo.  No, it's not a cloaking device, just low pressure and high humidity.

Red Line Airshows.  This is a father and son team, flying homebuilt aircraft.

Bill Stein's Edge 540, with a unique paint scheme that constantly changes color.

And the headline act - the USAF Thunderbirds!
