July 4th Flying

The flying faction of SMAC kept the flight line busy until sundown on Independence Day. Summer weather is here, finally. If you aren't a SMAC member and would like to attend our July meeting, it will be held this coming Tuesday, July 11th at 7:00 PM.

A special Thank You to all our club members that keep the field mowed. We have one of the best-kept fields around- all because we have members that volunteer their time each Wednesday.

Don't forget, Fifi the B-29 and Diamond Lil the B-24, along with several other WWII aircraft will be at Springfield airport until the end of the week. Come see these rare warbirds and support the efforts of the Commemorative Air Force!

Last, but certainly not least, if you are a hobbyist looking for somewhere to fly, or if you are interested in getting into the hobby, come visit us at the field or send us an email at smacohio@gmail.com. We are a laid-back bunch of guys that like all kinds of types of model aircraft.

The following are photographs from our evening of flying on the Fourth- enjoy.

Sorry folks. I had many of my shots ruined by some kind of file corruption.
