Windy Thursday

After another soggy day, Thursday May 28 brought bright sunshine and a breeze to dry things out.  A number of SMAC members gathered for evening flying in spite of a fairly strong crosswind.

Rick B was the main attraction with his Giant Scale Fokker Dr.1.  A pair of struts under the tailplane solved the flutter problem and he was able to wring it out.  The bright color scheme gives the model great presence in the air.

Rick had a little trouble with the crosswind on his first landing, and had to straighten both axle wires afterward.  The second landing was a grease job.

Mike R flew his Flex Innovations RV-8.  Impressive performance but too windy for serious 3D work.

Your editor Jim R checked out his ix14se+ transmitter with his 1/6 scale Sig Clipped Wing Cub.

Also with his Sig Smith Miniplane, originally built in 1989.
