The Battle of North Hampton
On a quiet summer day in June, 2022, the sky over the bucolic fields of North Hampton bore witness to one of the great air battles of history...
Bullets and wooden splinters erupted from the doped wing fabric of the aircraft. Moments before, the pilot and the spy in the second seat had escaped with secret allied air command orders, stolen from the British forward air field.
In a panic, the Taube pilot forced the control stick back and to the the left with all his might, trying to get the wings to warp far enough that the aircraft would roll away from his attacker. As he struggled to force the stick into position, flames erupted from his fuel tank.
"Oh-oh...das ist nicht gut!" Understatement of the day.
Thus, Allied Ace "Gentleman" Jim in his superior S.E. 5 fighter struck down the escaping, obsolete Taube flown by the notorious boche pilot known as "Steven Das Kratermacher."
