SPRINGFIELD BARNSTORMING CARNIVAL

Saturday was the annual Barnstorming Carnival at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport. If you haven't attended this event, you are missing out on one of the best general aviation fly-in and family events in Ohio. Thanks to Mr. Dewey Davenport for organizing and putting on this awesome show for the community each year.

SMAC members Jim R., Steve B., Todd P., and members of the Fairborn Flying Aces represented our hobby at the event with static displays and aerial demonstrations. Mark Radcliff, our regional AMA District III Vice-President, participated in the aerial display and helped some aspiring RC-airplane enthusiasts fly for the first time with a "buddy-box" radio control.

There were many fine examples of historic aircraft from the "Golden Age" of general aviation, and even a few military biplanes. Unfortunately, the Sunday event was rained out. Mark this event on your calendar for next year!
