June Invitational Fly-In

The weather was fantastic for today's fly-in and picnic. Thank you to everyone that came and made it a great kick-off to the 2017 flying season. The field was perfectly mowed. Jets, gas, glow, and electric aircraft all took to the air at various times, providing an entertaining show for the spectators. At noon, the Shaw's grilled some excellent burgers and dogs that kept the flyers coming back for more. What a great time!

Buzz and company watching the action from the shade.
Flame-broiled goodness. Yum!

When dinner was served, everyone put down their radios and dug in.
This gas-powered Stuka was the most unique war bird on the flight line.
From micro-size electric to giant scale gas, there was a wide variety of models. This Rascal was true to its name- needing pit work for mot of the day. Once it was flying though, it had a great sound and looked graceful in the air.

It wasn't a day just for airplanes. We were entertained by a jaw-dropping 3-D helicopter flight.
The aerobatics weren't limited to the helicopter- this plane's pilot could hang, flip, and spin with the best!
Rick B.'s new jet looked great in the air and on the flight line.
