October Meeting and (Re-) Building Season

The October club meeting is coming up this week- Tuesday, 7:30 pm at ASBURY UNITED METHODIST in North Hampton, 104 E Clark St.

Building season is here (and RE-building season)!

Whether you are scratch-building a scale model, building a kit, piecing together a new ARF, or repairing a crunched foam warbird, we would appreciate you sharing your shop stories on the SMAC website. Please email photos and a description of your work to smacohio@gmail.com

Building from scratch may seem like a daunting task, but model plans exist for every level of building skill. Scratch building can be quite fun and rewarding, and if you haven't tried it, you should consider a doing a scratch-building project this winter.

Built using Aerofred plans printed at home using an inkjet printer.

Check out Aerofred (yeah, that's spelled correctly) for thousands of free building plans.

There's plans for all sizes and kinds of models on the Aerofred site. You can print the plans at home and piece them together with tape, take the files to an office supply store for printing, or purchase plans from their website. This is a great way to find a use for electronics filling up your spare parts bin.

Do you have a damaged foam model? Everyone has some type of foam model in their hangar these days, and repairing those models can be a chore. Please share your repair stories and tips. Your repairs may be more interesting and helpful to other SMAC community members than you realize.
