Friday Evening Flying

Although it was a bit humid this evening the wind was calm, making it a great evening for flying. The field corn is now like a stockade fence around the flying field. That is not a problem though- keep your aircraft in close and use the eastern expanse to make turns to fly over the airstrip.
It was quadcopters and war birds this evening. First-Person-View (FPV) makes for an awesome flying experience. It's as if you are in the cockpit, and one of our own members uses this new technology to skillfully fly a quadcopter. If you haven't witnessed this first-hand, you are definitely missing a neat experience.
Fat Shark FPV goggles let you sit in the cockpit. This little quadcopter can maneuver nimbly and fly fast.
If you are a war bird fan, you probably would have liked to have seen the P-38 buzzing the runway and doing rolls and immelmanns.

August is nearly here, and the end of the flying season not far after. Call your friends, grab an aircraft, and come out to join us!

If you are looking for a place to fly, we have one of the best flying fields in the region. Drop us a line at smacohio@gmail.com, and we'll get you set up with a membership.
